Hey everyone. Hope you're all feeling good after vietnam :) Anyway remember the bike park at Ubin I told you guys about? Well I went to try it and it was really one heck of an experience. Just in case any of you are interested I'm gonna write a little about it.

Basically the park is made around a quarry, and it's singletrack. The sections of the trail is divided into three sections: Blue (Moderate), Black Diamond (Hard), 2 black diamonds (Very Hard). It's a nice place, with plenty of nice views of the quarry, but it's really damn underutilized - when I went today I saw less than 10 pple in the whole place. nice. might be cos it was raining tho. and cos it was raining everything became slippery and muddy so became much harder =/ Then beside the trail there are 2 small set-ups for tricks and the like. One is the dirt skill park, where they set up small hills and another is just for tricks, where they set up teeter totters (bicycle version of seesaws), rocks, and the like.

So yup started off with the easy trails. Very very simple, anyone with balls and some experience on a bike should be fine with it. Problem is cos it rained and it was muddy and all that by the end of if you'd be drenched, and dirty cos all the mud is flung at you. Everything I wore changed colour. So was thinking to myself this is quite simple, so went off to try the dirt skill park. That went ok, tho not very well but still fine. A few minor crashes but no injuries :) so yay happiness! So lala got off the dirt skill park and went back on the trail. Well the problem is to get back there there's a slope, then a virtually 90-degree turn. So went wayy too fast, turned too much, braked, the bike skidded and I landed spectacularly and flew about 2 metres from the bike. WIPEOUT NO.1! So yup that was pretty painful but it was really really fun! Was bleeding a lot even though the injuries didn't seem that bad. Should try wiping out it's really quite interesting.

So got back on the trail and went towards the hard part. Well lets just say out of the 13 parts i only cleared about 1 or 2. The rest I had to use my legs or get off and push the bike or whatever. Well well dont even talk about the very hard ones cos it's practically impossible with the bike and my skill level haha. Very nice terrain though. Ended off the session with a short one at the tricks area. Tried out the teeter totter! Quite fun actly :) Too noob for most of the rest =/ And that was more or less it. Went Chek jawa but rained too heavily so went back. When I was washing off all the dirt 7 guys walked into the toilet. Then they started staring at me lol like in total shock cos of all the mud and stuff XD

Things I gained at the end:
bruises on my right elbow, right shoulder, right and left shin, cut on left buttcheek (my favourite one =), waist, right and left hands. Free exchange of colour of my shoes, shirt, pants to mud-body colour stayed the same, surprisingly. Oh and a hole in my pants the size of a fist. No wonder guys take girls biking.

Lessons learnt? Quite a lot actly. If anyone's thinking of going there pls rmb a poncho. Was raining like &^^#@%. And well rainy conditions made it a lot harder cos it was like slippery and muddy so yeah. Another thing bring enough water, not only to drink but to wash your wounds. After the wipeout (which was fun) I didn't have water to clean the wounds. And worst thing was it was muddy and raining so had to use rainwater to clean off the mud and stuff (not so fun). And of course first aid kit, which I didn't bring. A good pair of shoes with grip also comes in handy cos when you need to stop or whatever you need good shoes. Shin pads, groin guards, elbow guards, helmets are all good-it's a good thing to be humji. Oh and you really do need to be good on a bike-not for first time riders. If you have your own bike all the better, cos the ubin ones aren't exactly the best around. Anyway I really recommend you all to go there, but do be prepared for falls and crashes, the kind that might make pple quit cycling. In any case Ubin's a very nice place to cycle-even if you dont go there you can take an easier ride to Check Jawa and stuff. It's more interesting than you think haha.

yoyy there people.

i thought you all might be interested to find out what we are going to do, so here are a few pictures from reccee that might give you all a rough idea. yupp. some of the info is not confirmed, so yah, there might be changes.

so below is the picture of the school, and the road, which looks deceptively easy to walk.

and one of the things we have to do is to nail these tables and chairs together to form a platform for the kids to sleep ( we will teach you later).

so yah, here is their current table and chair, which like 4/5 kids squeeze into. its 38cm by 100cm by 60cm tall ( sorry forgot to rotate before uploading)

we will show you our new designs at a later stage

now comes the library

their roof allows you to know when its raining almost instantly

and their classrooms has more spiders than people

they have er, different kinds of walls, which we must patch up.

Hey everyone! Thanks for coming down for odacia and all that its really very nice of you all, putting up banners and whatnot. Esp the comm and everyone else who did all sorts of stuff. Hope you enjoyed by hand-made drink :) Just cos I stirred it with my hand doesn't mean anything ok! My hand's black but it's perfectly clean. The fact that I had diarrhea that morning doesnt mean mcuh I think =P

Anyway Sibu trip in 2 days! Alright lah 5days 5NIGHTS on a tiny little boat with me, who can resist a chance like that man. Gonna have lots of fun haha, and I bet I'll come back even darker than I am now. mm cant wait. Really feeling that buzz before an expedition and I just wanna skip tmr and go straight to Wednesday and set off in my tiny little kayak and paddle somewhere in East Malaysia, jumping off cliffs tied to some rope and all sorts of stuff like that. Whee gonna be lots of fun lah.

Ah yes and the Vietnam recce pple (Elizabeth and Hien) will be setting off tmr! All the best and have lots of fun haha. Try not to miss me too much =)

hey all!!!

omg...i love the new ODAC blog layout....uh...ok...i'm not sure if it's really new coz i havent posted in AGES. only felt like posting today coz its ODACIA!!!!

well, i have some pretty mixed feelings bout ODACIA...Firstly, it didnt go on as well as i had hoped...you know after the planning and all....but i guess it worked out pretty ok in the end. Congrats to the committee =) (haha.....which includes mua)

i know it's sort of a replicate of the handover, but given the limited time and circumstances (i means...2 hrs??? that's hardly enough time to get to know some one....otherwise, i would have allocated some time for an ice-breaker session....like getting to know the seniors....like senior senior SENIOR)... i only managed to speak to a batch 21ner......sobs....my fault too la since i was too worried bout the programmes and all

and if you're wondering why the 1st part of the event was so....DULL...its coz there wasnt any cable to play the music....i mean...what's a party without MUSIC!!!! in the end i resorted to putting my handphone speaker on top of the mike (yeah..laugh all u want...i was like some silly idiot trying not to knock the handphone on the mike while keeping them as close as possible-.-")

anyways, glad that it's over and we've managed to somehow pulled it through....

GREAT job for the ppl who helped with the clean-ups......i think we managed it pretty fast...=)

oh and pls dont puke....really sorry for this....but it's so unbelievable tht i've just got to say it.....preparing the lemonade was the most ridiculous part of the whole event....we used yi chao's bottle to stir the uh....mixture...but no worries, we made sure he washed the whole bottle and hands befored sticking it into the....uh...mixture.....yups.....shhhhhhhhhhhh.......

HEE assoc rockclimbing today was fun and happiness :) haha I think we were all damn rusty after so long not climbing lah but still some people were damn bloody imba. Finally got to use the grigri! Quite nice haha I found it pretty good actually. The whole session was just full of fun joy laughter happiness lah. Hopefully we'll have more sessions like that =P

objective being muscle endurance so no need to chiong up and down full steam 101% speed
just do every step one by one
and do constant pace

and if we do this
once a week
we is can tahan.

if we do it twice a week we will just own.

if you haven't already heard about this wonderful form of entertainment called the zebra crossing game, let me update you!

first you must walk very slowly.

then you must walk very slowly out of school. at this point people behind you are probably getting irritated already. did i forget to add that you must walk very slowly out of school in a very big group? take up all the space on the pavement.

next you walk to the zebra crossing.

next you cross the zebra crossing.

one by one.

then you see how many cars you and your friends can get to stop...

motorcycle = 1 point
car = 2 points
car with parent of schoolkid driver = 5 points
bus = 10 points
big fat lorry/cement mixer/whatever = 20 points

How to start a fight

Hihi, today Yong Yao and I were very, very bored. So we decided to try to piss people off to start a fight with them.
Kay, firstly we tried to pick a fight with some rjc girls but decided against it when we happened to see annabel among them lol. We got luckier with some RI kids in j8, who agreed to settle for a fight at city hall mrt control station.
We also tried to start a fight with a young man and his gf at s11 when he wanted jonyee to clear his bag but alas we humji at the last min lol.
More luck awaited us on the bus ride home:
1. We saw a neighbourhood sch boy and tried to stare at him until he buay song.
2. An army guy sat in front of us and yy wanted to tap his shoulder and point a very universal sign at him.
3. There was this couple who sat next to us (we sat at the back row) and the guy carried a swensen's cake. We wanted to smash the cake in his face,
4. Alternatively, we could have opened the box and sampled the cake.
5. We could have put moves on his girlfriend.
6. We can take the cake and smash it into the army guy's face... hence pissing two guys off with one cake. How pro is that?

Hi all this is Tak Chuen ( not chaga ) here =)

Taking up zach's advice to blog, i am here now posting my first ever blog post anywhere haha. So lets talk about today's activity shall we?

Today's act is probably just about pt and trying to improve our alredi zai fitness so that we wont die during rock climbing which is the next module. The guys were doing our static sets at the wide space outside the gym wif all those benches. Sadly, we were not the only ones there, as our other erm... more manly counterparts were there bending their arms, kissing the ground and trying to bring the building down wif all their shouting ...

Basically after our stretching n warm up jog, we started on the 2 rounds around rj, which was damn tiring for mi cos i had 2.4km trial run today for pe so my legs were still like aching =(

However, despite all my shagness, all the manly people around mi (other than the canoeists) inspired mi to give it my all ( lol just emoing abit haha), especially jon yee today waaa finally realised how manly he was leading the pack of us during the run and doing 10 chin ups omg ... gd job fellow scout =)

Static sets included pushups, squats, butterfly kicks (lol ... can butterflies kick?? another screwed up statement from jonyee) and the chinups. And of course we oso had our erm warm down run which was also ONLY 2 rounds around rj ... so yea tt basically sums up everything abt pt and today's act.

Ok shall not talk too much alredi cos i am like super tired and on the verge of collapsing. (wads more tmr still got another session of PE omg gg!!)

Canoe Girlfriend Part 2

It's extremely pragmatic to get a canoe girlfriend for the following reasons:

1. They'll always be there to give you a "lift" home

2. You know you won't need to pay a cent when you take her to the bar... i mean the pull-up bar of course

3. You can save money on renting a wedding car, just decorate ur canoe spouse and voila! problem solved.

4. You won't have to worry about eating a fat-free meal... ever.

5. Save money on hiring a personal gym trainer.

6. She will never expect you to carry stuff for her... in fact she would probably grab yours to carry, so you won't have to bother about carrying her lunch tray.

However, you do get some problems such as having extensive medical bills when your bones get crushed once she bear-hugs you or she complains that you don't love her cos you can't seem to stretch your arm far enough to put it around her shoulder.

Hello. I just want to talk about my revelation. After my group reflections today, I realise some of the things I do irritate people and piss them off. Like me walking damn far ahead of them in night hike close to the end, among other things. So I'm sorry for being that way. I'm kind of insensitive and blur. and I don't realise I'm being irritating most of the time. Again, I apologise for making life difficult for others, and I would like to say sorry to Hien for putting her down numerous times. =(

If you noticed me being especially 'stone' today, I think that's because I was worrying over this a little and wondering if I'm really that screwed up. I concluded that I was.

I want to ask a favour of you guys. Please tell me to my face that I'm being an asshole if you find me irritating. I would appreciate that a lot. Don't worry about insulting me, like I said, I'm insensitive so I don't mind. Just tell me so I can learn to be a better person. One last question: Does my singing come under the list of irritating things I do? I have this feeling that it does... =\

boo ppl, do rmb to log in regularly and post lotsa lotsa useful stuff on da blog yea? anyways, ophir is on friday! just can't wait to get there with u guys! anyways, drink lotsa water, rest if ure feeling a little under the weather, and remember:

Dismissal from classes 9th mar (fri): 11am
Gathering time (with bags and changed up): 11.30am

Odac room will be open from 7.20am to 7.35am on fri morn for us to put our expedition bags, and we'll open the room at 11.15am so plzplz take out ur bags b4 11.30! sch bags can be left inside the odac room; we'll be dismissed from RJC on 11th (Sun)
